Published 5th Nov 2020
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Following the government's announcement that England will enter a national lockdown from 5th November until 2nd December 2020, we will be unable to provide any travel insurance cover for trips in this period.
You can purchase policies now if your trip starts after 3rd December 2020.
BE AWARE: Due to the current government guidance, policies purchased for travel between 5th November 2020 and 2nd December 2020 will be invalid. Contact us on 01223 446 920 for more information or email email@example.com
How does this affect my insurance policy?
Our policies do not cover cancellation if you are unable to travel due to FCDO advice changing prior to your trip.
If you have already purchased a travel insurance policy with OK To Travel for a trip beginning between 5th November and 2nd December 2020, the cover will no longer be valid due to the latest government travel advice.
If your trip has been cancelled and you will not be using your insurance policy, or you have decided to move your trip to alternative dates and wish to amend your cover period - contact us on 01223 446 920 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to explore options of amending or cancelling your insurance as per our policy terms and conditions.
What should I do next?
If you booked your trip via a Travel Agent or Tour Operator, or have booked more than one element from the same provider, then the trip is considered as packaged. Trips cancelled due to FCDO advice would therefore fall within the remit of Package Travel Regulations and be eligible for a refund from your travel organiser. See abta.com/tips-and-advice for more details.
For cancellation of flights only due to FCDO advice, you should contact your airline in the first instance.
What to do if I'm already abroad?
As of the 3rd November 2020, the FCDO have stated that British nationals abroad do not need to return home immediately. However, you should check with your airline or travel operator on arrangements for returning. Whilst this advice remains in place, your policy cover will remain valid.
